Why Us?

At The Ninnescah Valley Bank – as an organization – we believe in giving back to our communities. Our officers and employees are active volunteers, and the bank contributes time and money to local nonprofits in health care, education, and economic development as well as many other charitable causes. We’re pleased to continue our tradition of supporting the communities we proudly serve.

Our History

Standing Proud Since 1925

In 1925, a group of local people saw a need for a bank that understood the needs and values that were important to the citizens of the Cunningham community. Out of a desire to help this community grow and prosper, The First National Bank of Cunningham was founded. While the founders wouldn’t recognize many of our services – online banking and debit cards – they would be perfectly at home with our values because they haven’t wavered since 1925. We still put honesty, integrity and helping others above all. Through agricultural and business loans, mortgages and a broad range of other financial services, we work hard to meet the needs of the communities we’re a part of.

We employ the same fundamental banking practices we began nearly a century ago – financially sound decision making, a focus on meeting the needs of our customers and a commitment to supporting our communities.

Timeline

1925
The Comptroller of the Currency issues Charter #12791 to the organizers of The First National Bank of Cunningham opens with capital stock of $25,000. Purpose: To serve the farmers, ranchers and small businesses of the Cunningham community and surrounding areas.
1930s
During the Great Depression, when other banks were failing, The First National Bank of Cunningham remained conservative and strong, weathering the problems that resulted in so many bank closures.
1980s
Agricultural Crisis - high interest rates, over-priced real estate, and a strained agricultural economy caused many banks to suffer along with their customers. The First National Bank of Cunningham raised capital and strengthened the bank to survive and build a base for prosperity.
1981
Completed remodel and expansion to serve the needs of the customers.
2013
Converted to service bureau and online banking options were offered in order to further serve the changing needs of our ever-growing customer base. Total assets reach $34 million, a $13 million increase from levels of 7 years prior.
2018
In conjunction with the bank switching to a state charter it announces its new name: Ninnescah Valley Bank. While we look forward to serving all those in the Ninnescah Valley and creating greater value for our customers and surrounding communities, we realize our name is secondary to delivering helpful, customer-focused financial solutions.
